Track Biography:

Point-to-Point racing has a long and rich history at the scenic location of Fairwood Park, Tinahely, since 1989. Fairwood Park also plays host to the Tinahely Agricultural Show each summer which is one of Ireland's longest running agricultural show.

Jamie Codd, who is the second winning-most point-to-point rider in the history of the sport became the first modern day rider to ride all six winners on the one card at Tinahely in October 2011.

Previous track winners to have won at Tinahely include former Grade One winner Fundamentalist and Cheltenham Gold Cup runner-up On His Own.

Tinahely is situated in the heart of the Wicklow countryside, the garden of Ireland. Located just an hour and half from the bustle of Dublin city, Tinahely is a pretty village in south west Wicklow that offers a variety of walking opportunities and a gateway to the beautiful Irish landscape.

SOPAT is a half-sister to the unbeaten Silver Forever, a mare that won her maiden for Kieran Roche last spring, before impressing on her first outing under rules at Chepstow for Paul Nicholls last weekend. Second on her debut at Tralee when only narrowly beaten, Sopat is the clear form selection in this. Perle Rose, Moll Cartys Mare and Maine Dancer are among the likely challengers.

The newcomer Presenting Europe has a smart pedigree, being out of a half-sister to Grade 1 hero Sizing Europe, however preference has to be given to the clear form choice TRACK MAC. Costing 40,000 euro himself as a three-year-old, the Presenting gelding went very close in a big-field Tralee maiden in the spring, and sets a strong standard here. Reallyradical has a final fence error from around here to blame for not making a winning debut in February, and he showed the first signs that he was returning to form at Damma House a fortnight ago.

Sizingdowntherhine, has certainly achieved the most to date of those entered in this, having finished a close second in two hunter chases, at Wexford, and more recently at Fairyhouse in February, however he disappointed on his seasonal reappearance last year and preference is given to the race-fit SIDETRACKED, who got off the mark at Lisronagh on Saturday. The locally-trained pair of Johns Choice and No More Monkeys were both last time out winners at this venue, proving their liking for the course, whilst Ballyhowne comes into this as a race-fit rival, having already run three times this season, winning on his reappearance at Moira.

An intriguing contest which could pitch one of last season?s leading lights in the division, Sizing Coal, against a high class track recruit in KRUZHLININ. The latter has the advantage of a recent run under his belt, having breezed through his open debut at Moig South a fortnight ago, and he looks to retain plenty of his old ability. Vinnie Luck would seem to be next best on what would be his first start at this venue, whilst former Graded winner, Roadie Joe, can improve for his Ballinaboola reappearance.

Track recruit DARCY MCGEES was not disgraced when finishing fourth in a Navan maiden hurdle, and if primed for this first run in 19 months, his track form would entitle him to strong claims in a race like this. The consistent Getaway Home brings the pick of the points form into this on what will be his seasonal reappearance. He made the frame in three of his last four starts in the spring, and is sure to be there or there abouts. Meanwhile, Askance can improve from his pointing debut, when fourth at Dowth Hall.
